Program overview

About five school programs are reviewed for relevance and effectiveness each year, depending on the size of the school, and there are two categories to consider when deciding what to review.

  1. Those with performance issues, indicated by data

  2. Those periodically reviewed as a matter of course

The issue-driven reviews are conducted by autonomous teams, usually taking one year to complete.

Periodic reviews can be conducted by individuals or pairs over short periods of time, to quickly determine their continuing relevance and/or effectiveness. It's a good idea to create a review calendar, spanning several years, to ensure that all programs are eventually addressed.

The improvement wheel - Programs

Similar to improving people, the improvement wheel can be used for improving programs.
