High abilities

Students with high academic abilities fall within the top 2% of all students and need to be identified through formal testing by a qualified education psychologist.

As with all extraordinary students, programs need to have flexibility to allow them to thrive. The use of inquiry-based learning extends such students by allowing the exploration of tangents and adding depth to their learning.

Take care when considering accelerating or fast-tracking high ability students. This can seriously impact on social development and mental health.
